PP PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
Priest:
You are the Christ, the Son of the living God
God’s word nourishes us in our faith journey.
We now recall the needs of our church and our
Communities as we turn to the Lord in prayer.
1. For leaders in the churches. (Pause)
May those who exercise leadership in the churches
Be people of faith and wisdom, alert to the gifts God
Gives to all; and by their preaching the truth about God
May they encourage God’s people everywhere.
Lord hear us.
2.For an awareness of God’s majesty and goodness
(Pause) With Peter, may we be filled with wonder at
The majesty of God.May we always reverence the living
God whose nature and purpose are beyond our words and
Imagination. Lord hear us.
3For preachers and teachers in the churches (Pause)
We pray for those who preach and teach in our
Churches, schools and places of learning.May they
Be constant in pointing to the Christ of God;and
May we encourage and support them in their ministry and work. Lord hear us.
4For a deeper Faith among all who believe (Pause)
May all of us be renewed in faith this day and
Like Peter who confessed Jesus as God’s Son,
Renew our commitment to follow the way of
Christ by lives that take seriously the teaching
Of the gospel. Lord hear us
5. For good health (pause).
We pray that our brothers and sisters will be well again. We remember Tom Hugh, Lewis Courtney, Baby Nicola Skye, Theresa Benson, Catherine Tomlin, Jim Walsh, Natasha Fitzpatrick, Francis Allen, Samuel Nolan, Rose Wright, Ann McNicholl, Philomena O’Hagan, Mark Turner, Freddie Fusco, Collin Lydon, Sean Connoly, Alice Mbeng Bessong, William Guckian, Nerville, Fred Osby-Darko, Pat Whitlock, Yris Alomajan, George Sidney Marks, Francis and Mary McGilligan. Lord, hear us.
6. For those who died (pause).
May the dead rise to new life in the Lord. Lord, hear us.
Let us ask Mary, the most faithful follower of her Son,to join her prayer with ours.Hail Mary…
All growth is quiet. We pause to say Amen to the Holy Spirit.
Priest:
Living God and Father, you have revealed yourself
To us in Jesus your Son.Help us to follow his way
And his teaching for he is Lord, for ever and ever
Amen
